Sterculia trees resin

Sterculia trees (Karaya Gum tree)

We grow Sterculia trees over 12 ha. They originate in India and are found in subtropical and tropical sub-Himalayan regions. They start producing after five years. They are unusually shaped, crooked with white and greenish grey, smooth bark.
At night in the moonlight, they look like ghosts.

The resin is extracted from the truck through crack or cuts. It is naturally available and easy to extract. It is non-hazardous with unique properties from bookbinding to cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, and even as an outer layer for pills throughout the world. Indian and Chinese medicine has used it for hundreds of years as a laxative and for digestion.
Sterculia resin is a highly valuable resource with high market value. We sell it in 1–1.6 kg lots in polypropylene bags. We produce the highest quality white resin. It looks like hard parcels of gum.

Spices

So Pae Win also produces spices, including garlic, ginger, lemongrass, black cardamom, and star anise.
Our spices are tested in a lab in Yangon to ensure they are clean and food safe.

All products draw on the best Myanmar has to offer to local, regional and international customers. Like mangoes, Myanmar is in the perfect zone for growing spices. They add zest and flavour to food and many incredible health benefits.

“I enjoy growing spices because we have very good conditions. We can produce here and bring to local markets. I tried to sell fresh but now people are changing to powder. I can adapt and meet local needs. I started two years ago.”
